Legends. This article is part of Legends: the expanded-universe stories that Lucasfilm set apart from canon in 2014.
Ar'alani was a Chiss female admiral who served in the Chiss Defense Fleet of the Chiss Ascendancy's Expansionary Defense Fleet. As a member of the Defense Hierarchy, which served as the high command of the entire Expansionary Defense Force, Ar'alani had been obliged to resign her status in one of the Ruling Families, and to devote herself entirely to the military. In contrast to the black Defense Fleet uniforms with shoulder patches in the Family colors that were the normal dress of Chiss military personnel, she wore a pure white uniform.
