Bosso Weex was a male leader of the spice runners, half of whose men were enslaved by the Zygerrian queen Miraj Scintel. When a payment delivery was arranged between Weex's men and Scintel, Weex planned to kill the queen. At the meeting at the Drukarg highlands, his people attacked Miraj. However, she was defended by her newest slave, a Jedi called Anakin Skywalker. Skywalker defeated Weex's men, although he refused to kill anyone. Despite that, Scintel was certain that Weex would execute his associates himself.
