BXET-R2, nicknamed Box, was an astromech droid assigned to a Y-wing fighter piloted by Rebel flight leader Wilkins during the Galactic Civil War. During an Alliance attack on the Imperial Star Destroyer Vehemence, Wilkins was blinded and his ship badly damaged in a collision with a TIE/sa bomber. With the fighter's pilot incapacitated, Box took control, evading the enemy bomber and escaping into hyperspace.
