Cariso Smadis
Canon Legends version → Linked from 4 articles
Ensign Cariso Smadis was a human male who served in the Rebel Alliance Fleet. He was stationed aboard the CR90 corvette Tantive IV, the consular ship of Princess Leia Organa, when it fled from the planet Scarif with the plans to the Imperial Death Star superweapon in 1 BBY.
The Imperial I-class Star Destroyer Devastator pursued the Tantive IV and disabled it over the planet Tatooine. Smadis was then among those on board who took position at the port airlock and engaged Imperials stormtroopers there when they boarded the ship. Ultimately the Imperials took control of the vessel, but only after Smadis and the others had bought Organa the time she needed to get the plans off of the ship.
