Chlar Kotchmin was a male biologist who assisted his friend, Senior Anthropologist Mammon Hoole. After the rise of the Galactic Empire in 19 BBY, the two visited the planet Arzid, where Kotchmin was captured within a cocoon by a native arachnor. Hoole tried to save his friend, but the man suffocated before he could get the proper tools to do so. The anthropologist's fond rememberance of Kotchmin was included in the guidebook The Essential Guide to Alien Species, published by 25 ABY.
