Darth Nihl's predecessor

A Sith was a member of the One Sith that served as the predecessor of the Sith Lord Darth Nihl in the position of the Hand of the Dark Lord of the Sith and leader of the One Sith Darth Krayt. They participated in a massacre on the planet Ossus around 130 ABY, during the events of which they perished. In the wake of the massacre, Nihl was named the new Hand as Darth Talon—the intended successor—was not yet ready.

Seven years later, Sith Lady Darth Maladi pointed out to Nihl that—unlike the Sith Lord—Darth Talon had been a Sith since birth when explaining Krayt's obvious preference for the latter. The Sith Lady also added that Nihl only became a Hand following the predecessor's premature death because of Talon's unreadiness.
