Darth Plagueis

Darth Plagueis 'pleɪɡ.əs was a Muun Dark Lord of the Sith who secretly trained "the Stranger" and Darth Sidious in the ways of the Sith as his apprentices. Plagueis lusted for immortality, believing the secret lay in science. To that end, he researched bioengineering with Sidious, who possessed a strong connection to the Force, and experimented with his ability to influence the midi-chlorians to create life. In doing so, Plagueis acquired considerable knowledge of the Force, but was ultimately betrayed and murdered by his own apprentice in accordance with the Rule of Two, which limited the Sith Lords' ranks to one master and one apprentice. Sidious later recounted the "legend" of his master's demise to lure the Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker to the dark side of the Force, calling the fallen Sith Lord Darth Plagueis the Wise. After his own demise, Sidious used his master's teachings to cheat death, but he was permanently destroyed by his granddaughter, Rey.
