Dumas Mar'Ti

Dumas Mar'Ti was a Kaleesh female who captained the starship Athos during the High Republic Era. She once served as a member of the Byne Guild.

After Affie Hollow revealed that Scover Byne, the Byne Guild's leader, had abused indentures, causing issues with the Galactic Republic, the guild was disbanded. Although Scover Byne was responsible for the crimes, Mar'Ti felt that every honest guild employee had been punished along with her, thus she resented Affie for destroying the livelihoods of innocent people. One week after the destruction of the Starlight Beacon, Mar'Ti confronted Hollow on Eiram, condemning her for continuing to call Scover Byne her mother despite having exposed her. Refusing to hear Affie's explanation, Mar'Ti instead unleashed her frustration, describing how the collapse of the Byne Guild had ruined her life and the lives of countless others who had depended on it. Although the confrontation never turned violent, it ended with Mar'Ti still consumed by resentment and unwilling to forgive Affie.

Months later, while based on Kennerla, Hollow sought Mar'Ti out again, convincing her that the true responsibility for the guild's downfall rested with Scover Byne and, later, the Nihil, rather than with those who had exposed the corruption. Hollow proposed reorganizing the surviving captains into a cooperative network dedicated to protecting shipping lanes, sharing intelligence with the Galactic Republic and the Jedi Order, and resisting the Nihil. Though cautious about working alongside former guild members without oversight, Mar'Ti accepted the proposal, agreeing to help rebuild their community after Hollow offered to buy her a drink. Thus, marking the beginning of her cooperation with Hollow in the effort to unite former Byne Guild captains against the Nihil.
