G8-R3, also known as R5-A7, was an astromech droid which served onboard the Naboo Royal Starship used by the royalty of the planet Naboo. During the Invasion of Naboo by the Trade Federation, Queen Padmé Amidala used the vessel to try and escape from the planet, but came under fire from Lucrehulk-class freighters. When the Royal Starship's shield generator was damaged, the ship's astromechs attempted to repair it, but G8-R3 was destroyed in the attempt.
