Ghorman's governor

An individual served as the governor of the Colonies planet Ghorman. During his tenure in approximately 19 BBY, shortly after the transformation of the Galactic Republic into the Empire, the governor refused to bow to Emperor Palpatine. The Empire later increased Ghorman's taxes and, in response, many Ghormanian citizens staged a peaceful protest against the Empire's increased taxation at their planet's primary spaceport. Hundreds there were killed or wounded in the Ghorman Massacre when Imperial Captain Wilhuff Tarkin landed his warship on top of the protestors.
