Grancha Lakand

Grancha Lakand was a male explorer who worked on the planet Quesh in the early years of the Cold War between the Galactic Republic and Sith Empire. While Lakand was exploring a fissure in search of Quesh venom, a valuable chemical found on Quesh, Lakand became trapped by a rockfall. By the time he had been rescued, Lakand's adrenal countermeasures to the poisonous atmosphere of Quesh had worn off, and he had been breathing venom fumes for several hours. Lakand told his rescuers that he believed the planet's largest supply of Quesh venom lay below the fissure, and though he was initially dismissed as a crazed madman, Lakand returned to the fissure after recovering and—after weeks surveying—discovered a large reservoir of venom. The Grancha Lakand Venom Mine was built to mine the reservoir, providing the Republic with venom for several years.
