Hauer was a Human male colonel of the Galactic Republic during the Galactic War. Around 3641 BBY he was stationed in the High Security Section of the Belsavis prison, dealing with a massive prison riot. He asked a fellow Republic citizen to prevent the Rattataki from assembling a bomb using power cores and later tried to defend his involvement in the Project Noble Focus.
