HM-42 was a 3PO-series protocol droid and contract broker who operated out of the cantina on Renpalli Station, a space station located in the Toshaal system within Outer Rim Territories in 3 ABY. During which they offered contracts from various criminal groups, including Crimson Dawn, the Pyke Syndicate, and the Hutt Cartel. They had gold plating, yellow colored photoreceptors and communicated in Galactic Basic.
In 3 ABY, a thief named Kay Vess accepted contracts from HM-42.
