Legends. This article is part of Legends: the expanded-universe stories that Lucasfilm set apart from canon in 2014.

IG-101 was one of several of General Grievous's IG-100 MagnaGuards. Trained in the seven forms of lightsaber combat by Grievous, IG-101 was a formidable martial combatant, more than a match for most opponents, and even able to compete with Jedi. He participated in the Battle of Coruscant towards the end of the Clone Wars, accompanying Grievous aboard his flagship, the Invisible Hand. He and IG-102 retrieved Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi when they were captured by security forces aboard the Hand, bringing them before Grievous. When the Jedi escaped captivity and fought back, Grievous ordered IG-101 and 102 to engage the Jedi. Focusing on Kenobi, 101's formidable combat skills allowed him to quickly gain ground on the Jedi, though his repetitive fighting form proved to be his undoing, and he was decapitated and dismembered by his opponent.
