Jape was a Jedi Padawan who lived during the Republic Era and was apprenticed to a Jedi Master specializing in the astrophysics field by 41 BBY. That year, Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi—one of Jape's friends—thought about him while on a mission to the Outer Rim planet Lenahra, both envious of and missing his friend. By 40 BBY, Jape's Master began taking him traveling to see unique phenomena such as nebulae and black holes in the galaxy as part of his training.
