K-8Z8 was a KX-series security droid who served Admiral Ektol Traz of the Galactic Empire aboard the Imperial Interdictor-class heavy cruiser Spectral. After Rebel pilot Bak Rychuk of Shepherd Squadron infiltrated the Spectral, Admiral Traz promoted K-8Z8 to captain of the ship so he could escape in one of the escape pods before the ship crashed. K-8Z8 survived the initial crash of the Spectral when it grounded on the desert planet Jakku but was destroyed when the ship blew up sometime between 28 and 34 ABY.
