Kleya Marki

Kleya Marki was a woman who led a covert rebel network together with the revolutionary leader Luthen Rael during the Imperial Era. After the Empire perpetrated a massacre of her planet in 18 BBY, when she was just a girl, she would be rescued by an Imperial soldier who decided to resist the Empire, with the two later becoming known as Kleya Marki and Luthen Rael.

The two traveled the galaxy to combat the Empire's reign. Marki learned from Rael, and the two humans' efforts against the Empire culminated in a rebel network that was based at their gallery, the Galactic Antiquities and Objects of Interest in the upper levels of the galactic capital planet Coruscant. By 5 BBY, Marki acted as Rael's assistant and concierge at the gallery. An expert in subterfuge, communications, and related devices, Marki served as a recruiter, leader, and contact point for Rael's many operatives. She helped recruit individuals to join their cause and assisted Rael in overseeing their operations, including secret meetings with Senator Mon Mothma and ambitious raids like the heist on the planet Aldhani that saw a small team of rebels rob an entire quarterly payroll from the Imperial garrison there.

Marki and Rael would facilitate the deployment of rebel agents to the planet Ghorman, which faced an ever-tightening Imperial crackdown. Following the Ghorman Massacre in 2 BBY and Senator Mothma's subsequent speech that greatly criticized the Empire and made her an enemy of the state, Marki prepared the rebel spy Cassian Andor to infiltrate the Senate and rescue Mothma. She later met them at a safehouse and arranged for Mothma to be taken to the Alliance to Restore the Republic base on the moon Yavin 4.

In 1 BBY, the Imperial Security Bureau discovered Rael's identity as the leader of Axis and cornered him in the gallery, where he attempted suicide to avoid capture. Having witnessed Rael being taken to the hospital in Imperial custody, Marki infiltrated the hospital and ensured Rael's death to protect the rebellion. After a tearful final goodbye, Marki fled to the rebel safehouse where she attempted to contact network operatives in hopes to pass along Rael's final intel. Marki was soon rescued by Andor and brought to the Alliance base on Yavin 4.
