Maul's father

A Dathomirian Zabrak male was the father of the eventual Sith Lord Darth Maul. They were a member of the Nightbrothers, a group of warriors who operated on the Outer Rim Territories planet Dathomir and were subservient to the Nightsisters coven of the Witches of Dathomir. After Maul's mother, Talzin gave birth to Maul in 54 BBY, and in keeping with tradition which required the death of a Nightbrother after their child's birth, Maul's father was killed within a year of Maul's birth. After Maul was stolen by Talzin's associate, the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Sidious, and became his apprentice, he considered the possibility that his parents had spent time searching for him and did not know that his father had died.
