The original captain of the cruiser Morenia had been killed by 3 ABY after tasking the starship's protocol droid EY-E9 with finding a way to increase the ship's profits. To this end, EY threw the captain out the ship's airlock, replaced most of the crew with droids, and turned the Morenia into an underworld casino cruiser.
In 3 ABY, a human cleaner working on the Morenia claimed to have been present when EY spaced the captain while talking to the gambler Kay Vess while they were cleaning her room aboard the cruiser.
