Nya was a Tooka owned by Mak Eshka'rey. Nya was Mak Eshka'rey's beloved pet and sole confidant. Mak Eshka'rey brought Nya on a rebel convoy transporting civilians to a hidden rebel world. The Empire ambushed the convoy, and the transport Nya was on managed to jump to hyperspace and escape the battle. Eventually, the hyperdrive gave out near the planet Tatooine, where the damaged ship crashed. Nya stayed at the camp the other survivors set up, until the camp was attacked by Captain Terro and his forces.
