R3-L1 was an R3-series astromech droid that had blue and green plating and a transparent dome. It served the Galactic Empire during the Galactic Civil War against the Alliance to Restore the Republic. In a story told by Bobbajo, R3 was on duty on the control room of the battle station's tractor beam when a Snee called Qyp tried to disabled the tractor beam. R3 tried to stop him but Qyp faced down the droid.
