R3-M3 was an R3-series astromech droid manufactured by Industrial Automaton that stood 1.09 meters tall and had blue plating and a transparent dome. It served the Galactic Empire during the Galactic Civil War against the Alliance to Restore the Republic. In 1 BBY, the astromech droid was on board the Death Star superweapon while it was in the Alderaan system, and rolled down one of the battle station's corridors as the Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi snuck across the corridor in order to reach the Death Star's tractor beam controls.
