RB-551 was an older model B1-series battle droid who served within the droid army of the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars. In 21 BBY, the battle droid fought in the Confederacy's efforts to control the planet Ryloth, where he served as part of a battle droid patrol dispatched to locate the Twi'lek Resistance engaging the droid army in order to liberate the planet. However, RB-551 was destroyed alongside the patrol by the Twi'lek freedom fighters, which resulted in the Confederacy's dispatchment of additional battle droids to locate the lost patrol.
