Ridu was a security officer of the Galactic Republic. Stationed on Taris, he briefly commanded Elara Dorne's Search and Rescue Squad 204 during a visit by a Senator. The Senator was killed by rakghouls due to Ridu underestimating the severity of Taris' dangerous environment. Ridu blamed Elara for it, and sent his report of the event to Captain Kalor of the Personnel Division. When Elara caught wind of Kalor's inquiry, she confronted Ridu on Taris and made him recant his testimony with extensive contradictory documents of the incident.
