Shaleena was a Human female born into the Undercity Outcasts on the planet Taris. Kept away from the world's surface, they would dream about it and listened to the storyteller Rukil's tales of the fabled Promised Land, even into her adulthood. During the Jedi Civil War in 3956 BBY, they ran off two beggars from her village away from the amnesic former Sith Lord Revan. Shaleena then talked with him about her dreams and life in the Undercity. The man would later find the journals to the Promised Land, making Shaleena and the Outcasts leave the village to find it.
