Starks was an Imperial pilot within the 77th Air Wing's Sword Squadron. During the Battle of Kelrodo-Ai in the Western Reaches Operation of the Reconquest of the Rim, Starks flew under Dagger Flight under the call-sign of Dagger Leader. Alongside Amp and Captain Shea Hublin, he was one of the people directly responsible for the destruction of the hypermatter annihilator for the Citadel of Axes' shield generator, as well as, alongside the aforementioned pilots, Dibs, and Rocket, one of the few pilots to survive the battle.
