Tapalo was the father of Naboo monarch candidate Bon Tapalo. According to the patriarch of House Palpatine, Cosinga Palpatine, his grandfather challenged the elder Tapalo in an honor duel at House Palpatine's ancestral home, Convergence, around 135 BBY upon discovering that the houses of Tapalo and Veruna had manipulated the then-current Naboo-Gungan war to harness the plasma reserves. He managed to deliver mortal wounds to Cosinga Palpatine's grandfather.
