A blue-skinned, black-eyed Chagrian served as a member of the Jedi Order's High Council around 3997 BBY. The Chagrian, along with their Human colleagues, grew concerned with the Jedi Padawan Exar Kun and the eagerness of the latter to study the dark side of the Force, which was shunned by the Order. The Jedi Council claimed that Kun's desire for knowledge was beginning to resemble a thirst for power, and the young Jedi indeed fell to the dark side around 3997 BBY.
In a historical record composed by Jedi Master Gnost-Dural following the signing of the Treaty of Coruscant more than three centuries later, the Chagrian member of the High Council and their colleagues were depicted against the backdrop of a high-ceilinged hall. In the record, the Chagrian was wearing dark red and dark brown robes.
