Canon Linked from 2 articles
In 17 BBY, an RA-7 protocol droid was sent to deliver a message to Lyra Erso, the wife of scientist Galen Erso, warning her that her husband was unknowingly working on the Death Star superweapon for the Galactic Empire. The RA-7 protocol droid tracked Erso down on Alpinn to deliver the warning, though refused to divulge the identity of the individual who had sent it. After the protocol droid delivered the message, it self-destructed.
