A scientist was assigned to conduct research in Lord Grathan's estate on the planet Dromund Kaas during the Cold War between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire. In 3643 BBY, the scientist went rogue and poisoned fellow researchers and stole Sith research with the intent of selling it to the Galactic Republic. The operation was discovered when Imperial authorities detected unauthorized communication activity transmitting from the estate to Republic space. An Imperial officer subsequently ordered that Grathan's research be secured.
