Unidentified Shield Gate officer

Canon Linked from 7 articles

During the Battle of Scarif, an Imperial gate officer wearing a captain's rank insignia plaque with a row of four blue squares worked on the Shield Gate above Scarif as part of Gate Control. In 1 BBY, the officer informed the incoming Imperial Zeta-class Heavy Cargo Shuttle SW-0608 that they were not on the manifest. The pilot responded that they had been re-routed from the recently attacked Eadu Flight Station and transmitted the proper clearance codes, which this officer confirmed. Unknown to him, the cargo shuttle secretly held a commando team of Rebels led by Jyn Erso, who intended to infiltrate the facility on the planet and steal the Death Star plans. Later on the Rebel fleet arrived and and engaged the Imperial fleet orbiting the planet. Blue Squadron was tasked with getting to the planet's surface and began passing through the still open shield gate. The officer frantically scrambled to close the shield gate, which was still blocked by a passing Zeta-class shuttle, but allowed multiple fighters to pass through before managing to close the managed to energy field. The officer was killed when the remnants of the Persecutor and the Intimidator, two Imperial star destroyers disabled in the battle, where pushed by the Sphyrna-class Hammerhead corvette Lightmaker into the gate and destroyed it.
