A Snivvian served as an accountant for Jabba the Hutt in his criminal empire during the Imperial Era. In 4 ABY, the accountant cataloged several items in inventory in Jabba's Palace before taking a gemstone with him on his way out of the room. Valnir Nai, a waitress who observed the event, decided to steal several gemstones in hopes of allowing her a new opportunity outside of the palace on the planet Tatooine.
