An individual had a rank of a syndic in a ruling family of the Chiss Ascendancy. The syndic was in charge of a Chiss phalanx and was opposed to Assistant Syndic Soontir Fel and Syndic Mitth'raw'nuruodo's Household Phalanx.
According to the account given by Aristocra Chaf'orm'bintrano in 35 ABY, the Chiss family to which the syndic belonged had been destroyed by Soontir Fel during a civil conflict between the Chiss, which led to the syndic's opposition to Fel's policies.
