Vghand was an officer within the Imperial Navy of the Galactic Empire during the Galactic Civil War. Around the time of the Battle of Yavin, Vghand was stationed in the Dantooine system where he investigated a local criminal organization known as the Zel'iphian Slave Traders Guild. Although the Zel'iphian were notorious slavers, they denied any claim to trading slaves. As slavery was officially banned in the Empire, Vghand intended to prove that the Guild was actively trading slaves.
