The attack on Vader occurred between 3 ABY and 4 ABY during the scourge of the droids conflict and the Force Wave incident on the planet Mustafar, where the Scourge corrupted an octuptarra tri-droid from the abandoned Techno Union droid factory. Having hijacked ZED-6-7—a droid servant of the Scourge's target, the Sith Lord Darth Vader—after a failed attempted to corrupt Vader aboard his Star Dreadnought Executor, the Scourge attacked Vader and his other droid servants with ZED and the octuptarra. Through the skirmish, Vader managed to focus on his hatred for himself and re-establish his control over the Force, which he had struggled to command since the Force Wave returned. With his Force powers his to command once more, Vader destroyed the corrupted octuptarra and corrupted ZED. ZED was later rebuilt.
