During the Galactic Civil War, a battle took place above Cianap between the Alliance to Restore the Republic and the Galactic Empire. During the battle, Darth Vader was forced to crash-land on Cianap after his TIE Advanced x1 was damaged. Imperial forces eventually prevailed, and moved to extract Vader from the surface.
