The Battle of Hoth that occurred during 1 BBY was between forces of the Galactic Empire and Rebel Alliance. T-47 airspeeder pilots defended Rebel ground troops from several AT-AT walkers.
A Star Tours StarSpeeder 1000 passenger ship piloted by C-3PO and R2-D2 accidentally ended up in the middle of the battle after fleeing into hyperspace to escape an Imperial raid at Spaceport THX1138. One Rebel pilot warned to the StarSpeeder to leave the combat area, but the speeder was briefly disabled by blaster fire from a walker and slid down a snowy mountainside before launching back into space.
