In 3660 BBY, the forces of the Galactic Republic's Navy attacked the Sith holy planet of Korriban—the third conflict of the Great Galactic War to be focused on the ancient burial world. The battle was in the immediate aftermath of the Sith Empire's failed conquest of Ord Radama, which saw the destruction of a large Imperial strike force. The Sith survivors of Ord Radama were pursued back to the Seat of The Empire by the Republic Navy, which launched its short assault on Korriban upon arrival. The forces of the Empire rallied to strike back, but the Republic warships quickly pulled out of the Horuset system and regrouped above Ziost, where yet another battle occurred.
