During the Cold War, a battle between the Republic-aligned Ezran pirates and Sith Empire took place in the Ezran system. Not protected by the Treaty of Coruscant, the pirates and smugglers became a target for the Empire after lending aid and asylum to a number of Republic operatives. Rallying all available naval forces, the Sith Empire launched an attack on the pirates' outpost in the Ezran system in order to destroy it and remove the Ezran pirates as a threat.
