Between 3 ABY and 4 ABY, the the Sith Lord Darth Vader fought a battle with the droid uprising that consisted of a large force of droids assembled by the Droid Crush Pirates of Bestoon that attempted to ambush the Sith Lord on the planet Ringo Vinda and kill him in revenge for the times that he had killed the assembled droids during his career. Unbeknownst, to the droids, one of them, the forensics droid ZED-6-7, was secretly still working in the service of Vader and led the droids into a confrontation with Vader where they were completely wiped out, except for those who, such as Arex who was turned against the force of droids, and the assassin droids 0-0-0 and BT-1 who decided to pick what they saw as the winning side and began to attack their fellow droids before they later escaped. After the battle, Vader had the droids rebuilt and they began to follow him.
