At some point between 3681 and 3653 BBY, during the Great Galactic War between the reconstituted Sith Empire and the Galactic Republic, the Twi'lek slave Leontyne Saresh led her fellow slaves in a revolt against the Empire's forces on the planet Edusa. As a result of the revolt, many slaves were freed, and Saresh went on to become a staunch opponent of the Empire and slavery in the Galactic Senate.
