In 2 BBY, an engagement between took place in a system in Sector 56. The battle was between dissidents who were attacking shipping in the sector and the 7th Fleet Imperial I-class Star Destroyer Chimaera, commanded by Grand Admiral Mitth'raw'nuruodo "Thrawn", who had recently led the Empire to a tactical victory in the Battle of Atollon.
The battle in Sector 56 resulted in a truce which neutralized the threat to shipping, and brought the system under Imperial control. Following the battle, Thrawn reported his success to Emperor Palpatine in the Imperial Palace on Coruscant.
