In the time following the Battle of Exegol, the dark side adept Karre and his astromech droid, R-DUO, sought to escape a Gemini-class Star Destroyer with the kyber crystal that powered it. Karre had foreseen that his sister, Am, would die if the crystal was used, but she rejected his advice and attempted to stop him.
