The Kessel Massacre was an event that took place in the Spice Mines of Kessel at some point before the Battle of Geonosis.

The event began when slaves protested their working conditions in the spice mines of Kessel. The Chistori bounty hunter Cydon Prax was called in to quell the uprising. Prax, a tenacious warrior who fought without compassion, brutally ended the protests with the slaughter of six thousand slaves.

Eventually, Prax became Count Dooku's right-hand enforcer immediately after the death of Jango Fett on Geonosis at the start of the Clone Wars. In 22 BBY, the ruthless mercenary was remembered and feared throughout the galaxy as the man responsible for the Kessel Massacre.
