In 26 BBY, the Jedi Knight Jak'zin undertook a mission on Sullust on behalf of the Jedi Council and Galactic Republic to investigate the Kaldana Syndicate, a criminal syndicate who had made inroads on Sullust. Simultaneously to Jak'zin's mission, Count Dooku of Serenno had traveled to on a mission to Sullust to discuss contract negotiations with Representative Kap Klyp of SoroSuub Corporation, but secretly had traveled to the planet to seek out the very same group the Jedi had come to investigate.
