During the Yuuzhan Vong War, at some point between 25 ABY and 29 ABY, the extra-galactic Yuuzhan Vong invaders subjugated Kintan, the homeworld of the Nikto species.
Though the planet Kintan was not Vongformed, nearly seventy-five percent of its population was either enslaved or slaughtered. Given the Nikto's combative nature, they were more often killed than captured by the Yuuzhan Vong.
The Nikto who did survive the subjugation of Kintan went into hiding in the most remote portions of their homeworld.
