The Gortus system was located in the Kanz sector within an intersecting area of the Outer Rim Territories and the New Territories. Situated in grid square N-4 of the Standard Galactic Grid, it contained the moon Gortus 4, which had a colony. In 3 ABY, the colony signed over the rights to Gortus 4 to Lady Domina Tagge of the House of Tagge, who planned for an ore factory to be constructed there.
