The Hebekrr system of the Outer Rim Territories contained the habitable planets Hebekrr Major and Hebekrr Minor. By the time of the Clone Wars, a conflict between the Galactic Republic and Confederacy of Independent Systems, Hebekrr Major had been uninhabitable for a long time due to its geologic instability, although archaeological expeditions occasionally visited the planet to recover ancient technology and artifacts. In 22 BBY, in the first weeks of the war, the Separatists besieged Hebekrr Minor's major population centers, which were defended by the Republic Military.
