The Reegian system was located in the Sumitra sector, a part of the Trans-Hydian portion of the Expansion Region. During the Galactic Civil War, at some point between 0 ABY and 3 ABY, the Rebel Alliance planned Operation Cobolt, an assault on a Galactic Empire base located in orbit around the Outer Rim Territories planet Mantooine. As part of the preparations for that operation, the assigned fuel and weaponry were placed in deep space caches in the Reegian system, where they then awaited pickup. The Rebel Chief of Ordnance and Supply noted that fact at the subsequent 251st meeting of the Alliance High Command held around that time, with the comment being included in the meeting's minutes that were later extracted.
