The Slice

The Slice was an eastward region of the galaxy. A colossal wedge-shaped fan of star systems, it stretched from the Core Worlds to the Outer Rim Territories, and consisted of the region between the Perlemian Trade Route and the Corellian Run super-hyperroutes. It shared borders with the Interior westward, the New Territories northward, and the Trailing Sectors southward. During the Republic Era, piracy was rampant in the Slice, leading corporations to relocate from the region. Combined with the Jedi Order closing a number of Jedi outposts in the Slice, the region became even less secure. By 33 BBY, five major pirate gangs operated in the Slice: the Filthy Credits, the Poisoned Blades, the Riftwalkers, the Staved Skulls, and the Vile.
